The USD=UAH exchange rate, which began the day on street exchanges at USD 100 = UAH 1130, strengthened further during the trading day to UAH 1110. While the street exchanges in Kyiv were generally in agreement on the new rate, banks in the same city block of Kyiv still had weaker rates ranging from USD 100 = UAH 1120 to some as low as UAH 1150.

 

“After decades of only receiving generosity of others, we are gratified that now we can also extend help to those who are in greater need than ourselves,” says Poland’s chief rabbi.

Ukrainians at one point last week were able to exchange a USD 100 bill for UAH 1270. Apparently driven by the aid deal signed on Monday in Washington, the exchange rate at street level has strengthened today to USD 100 = UAH 1130.

The United States and Ukraine today signed an agreement for additional aid. An announcement alluded to working with Ukraine to determine its requirements across the security sector but there was no indication of additional security assistance in the near future.
